I don't know the right percentages, but how I always think of it is that CML has kinda even distribution between the cells deriving from myeloid precursor (other cells can be normal or increased), and with AML - blasts or myelocites are predominantly increased.

there was a Q
It provided the following figures as
Promyelocyte 1%
Myelocyte 8%
Metamyelocyte 15%
Bands 35%
Segmented neutrophils 25%
Lymphocytes 14%
Monocytes 2%

Can u suggest hw to approach these Qs??

the clue lies in blast forms <5-10% chronic leukemia/20% or > acute leukemia
AML M3 (most commonly tested) characteristic Auer rods in the cytoplasm
CML has more mature WBC forms

here no blast forms are visible
and Bands comprise the highest %=more mature forms (in AML immature forms would comprise the highest %)
this either could be an infection (high LAP score) or CML (low LAP score)
also look for increased number of basophils in CML
