Default tinea versicolor VS tinea corporis

can anyone get me the difference between tinea versicolor and other types as tinea corporis , tinea pedis

versicolor-hypopigmented patches (or somtimes hyperpigmented)+ sphagetti and meatballs on KOH

other tinea-red circular patches with central clearing and peripheral scaling

Tenia versicolor is caused by a more superficial infection usually caused by Malassezia and it gives hypopigmented spots on the skin. and as it was said a KOH mount will show the pasta and meatballs appearance.

Other types of tenia are deeper infections which involve the dermis (hence the name of their organisms -dermatophytes) they give the ring erythema appearance. the different names are according to the location
tenia captis - head
tenia corporis - body
tenia unginum - nails
etc...
