USMLE Scores NBME 5 score vs. Real score

Hi all,
I am currently preparing for STEP 1 and am thinking of taking NBME 5 soon (because I have already taken the other NBMEs)...well, I have heard that NBME 5 is the easier one and therefore over predicts your score...so, I wanted to find out from those who took NBME 5 while they were preparing for STEP 1...what was your predicted score from NBME 5 and what was your REAL score? (this way I can get an estimate of how much over prediction does NBME 5 do).

Thank you for your help!:sorry:

P.S. I am posting this in CK forum because I know most of you might not be visiting the STEP 1 forum since you are already done with that part!...so, this might be the best way to reach you!

Thanks again!

i dont really think u shud rely on nbme self assessments to predict ur score.... just use it to see if ur preparation is improving or deteriorating. i.e. ur studying with a right approach and not losing track.
also, while doing the nbmes, try n assimilate the style and nature in which the qs are built... and upto wht level are they making the qs confusion or tough.. and study accordingly.
although ppl say some tests overpredict or underpredict, i'd say, use them to see if ur getting a better score each time and once u hit abt 240, ur well prepared for the exam.

In my case , NBME 5 proved to be a underpredictor.....
my NBME 5 score=233
Real exam score=247

NBME 12 was actually a better predictor of my score....
my NBME 12 score=245
real exam score=247
