Help Any advice about how to imporve my CK score?

HI guys,

I'll have CK in about 3 weeks and I just took NBME6.... Didn't score exactly what I was expecting

Do you have any last minute advice about how to improve the score?

My feeling is that CK is very different from step 1. The material is really not great, to say the least...
I started my preparation with UW (and I finished it), and I was scoring around 70% before reading any books. I've read the MTBs after.

Now, the problem is, by reviewing my mistakes, I have the impression that even if I'll learn word-by-word all the KLNs or MTBs, no way I'm going to get these Qs right! So, it seems to me pointless to go through the books again (well, and I don't really have the time).

Maybe UW another time + review of MTBs while doing UW? I also bought Kaplan qbank, but I don't know how to feel about that (I'm scoring about 65%).

I feel my basic knowledge is fairly decent, and that I did not improved much with books or question banks! it's so frustrating!

Thank you so much for your help in advance guys.
I've found this forum very useful during my steps preparation

Hey I am in the exact same spot. Exam in 3 weeks and just took nbme 6 day before yest and scored low. But I still had 25% uworld left so right now just working on that and I will review all the material I have...painstakingly made uworld notes, and mtbs and a bit of kaplan review. I dont think I have the time for anything else. Is a second round of uworld imperative you think? I barely have time for just the marked and incorrect. How did you find nbme 6?

I didn't find the NBME particularly hard. I think at least 1/3 of my mistakes were avoidable if I had payed a bit more attention, I was going really fast, perhaps too fast. I would say, maybe 1/3 of my mistakes were avoidable by studying more? but not more than that.

are you using MTB2 and MTB3?
do you think FA for step1 + UW is enough for psych? Friends told me the Qs in the real exam were tricky

UW is very good in the explanations. If you went through all the explanations I don't think it's mandatory to go through it again. Make sure you finish it though. I think I'll do blocks for the wrong Qs only, for me are 8 blocks. Should be able to do it in 2-3days.

I'm doing kaplan as well, but I'm not sure it's useful, I heard discordant opinions about it. A friend of mine scored high and never touch it, just UW.

Exactly. Everyone's told me there is no great way to prepare for psych. Even those who score high don't have much to say on that subject. So I was also just planning on mtbs and maybe fa step 1 if i have the time. and of course uworld. also for biostats, just step1 fa.
yeah nbme 6 i thought was relatively easy while I was solving it, but didn't end up with a good score.
