Default Need help here

I am an IMG ,I passed CK ,now applying for step one and faced this q in my process, didn't know whether to mark yes or no
Q.

Have you ever submitted an application to the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) for a Part or Step examination?

Yes
No

Note: If you previously submitted an application to NBME, you must answer "Yes" to this question, even if you submitted the application under a different name or if you did not take the exam for which you applied. If you do not answer this question accurately, this may result in a finding of irregular behavior.

.................................................. .................................

Is this asking about NBME self assessments or taking any USMLE before?
Thanx in advance

you should reply ''yes'', but I would suggest for any concerns to contact ECFMG, to avoid any misunderstandngs...

Default mark it " NO"

AMGs(unlike IMGs who apply via ECFMG) register for their exams via NBME directly:

http://www.nbme.org/students/index.html

https://apps.nbme.org/ciw2/prod/jsp/login.jsp

In rare cases sometimes AMG drop out/leave their LCME accredited school and go to offshore medschool(e.g Caribbean) and retake/apply again for usmle exams via ECFMG and thats why ECFMG is asking whether you have been previously registered with NBME or not.

Hope this helps
