Default Confused

Reading MTB and it seems so lacking in everything except next step in management.
Then I started Uworld and half the questions are like pathophys and just basic stuff I dont remember.
I dont feel like MTB is providing sufficient knowledge about any of the topics.....Nothing like first aid was for step 1.

Any thoughts or advice on this?

MTB is not for learning basics or "in depth" learning. It's just a general review of superficial stuff. I suggest reading kaplan lecture notes if your basics are a bit rusty. (even step 1 material might help).

I didnt expect the book to cover all the basics but i thought it would cover STEP 2 CK material. Seriously am I the only one who thinks this book is really lacking.....even looking through the index you can see how many topics are not in there for whatever reason.
I guess if im the only one who sees it like that then maybe its just me and I need to find something better suited for me.
Has anyone tried the new edition of step 2 ck secrets?

I know what you mean even though I haven't started UW.

Go through Kaplan atleast once for all subjects. I'm on my second read of Kaplan and now I feel I have a solid base. After this, I'll go through MTB for fast revision. Going through Kaplan took a long time (3 months) but was worth it and good thing is it refreshed a lot of Step 1 material that I had forgotten (Took Step 1 almost 13 months ago).

Glad to know im not the only one who thinks that book is not good. Kaplan is real time consuming but your right it will at least provide all the necessary info. I just wish there was a better review book because it seems tough to go through all those books to look up topics rather than have one solid review book.
Im literally shocked how many topics I try to look up in the index of mtb and theirs nothing there.
Anyway ill figure something out.
