Embarrassed Whats the most accurate test for CF?

MTB 2 page 139 says its sweat test, and says genetic testing cant be most accurate due to lots of different mutation
Page 406 says its genetic testing.

now its pretty confusing

there is not one universal genetic mutation that causes CF so genetic test is less accurate than sweat chloride

Yup that sounds confusing. But the gold standard is swear chloride test although 1% of CF patients will have normal swear results. Genetic testing usually don't in pregnant women is cftr gene but there are many variable types of gene mutations for cf and unless you do all of those, genetic testing isn't accurate. I remember having read in step 1 uworld about impaired sodium uptake or so used to diagnose cf in those with normal sweat chloride test. Don't remember the whole explanation though.

There was a test for potential difference across nasal epithelial cells which I remember was meant to be the most accurate. Read back in step 1 so don't remember The whole thing
