Default KAPLAN VIDEOS worth watching?

Hey guys just started CK prep,a simple question, when going through the kaplan videos how much of what they are saying is the important stuff?

for example should i be noting down the points in the MTB book or should i listen/understand it and move along?

the MTB seems to answer the most likely/most accurate/best initial? while kaplan seems to be explaining the concepts.....concepts are good but my question being
1) should i concentrate as much on the concepts (noting them down in MTB book)
or
2) just brush through them (watch videos without nothing points down in MTB) and then read MTB well with uworld?

im watching the videos like my first pass of all the info....any and all suggestions are welcome.thanks.

okay i guess from the lack of responses that the videos aren't essential to the prep, so i shall breeze through them quickly and get to MTB and Uworld.

Hey Samren,

a lot depends on your starting preparation.
I did not watch all the videos, but what I can say about them is that they are very detailed and in my opinion they don't give you a comprehensive idea of what is really important to know, or high yield.

If you decided to go through the KLNs, I would recommend instead to watch the videos... maybe they will keep you awake a bit more.

I think you should probably only watch the videos of topics where you are weak, or weaker. I personally watched only ob/gyn, peds (skip the part of internal medicine!) and arrhythmias. I didn't like ob/gyn, I was very confused at the end and it took me forever to make the point integrating the info with UW. So, if you think you need to be more thorough with ob/gyn, use another source. Find an alternative to KLNs...

I did not use any videos or Kaplan notes

I believe there comes at point in which so much information becomes redundant and may do more harm.

From what I've seen most people don't watch them and generally do alright .

If you step 1 prep is solid and recent, uworld+some complementary book, should be enough

Hey vero, thanks, you seemed to have explained exactly what i was asking about...im not planning to go through the kaplan notes, its too extensive i think for exam purposes atleast (maybe i am mistaken),but im going through the videos quickly and using the MTB's while doing the videos.
i just want to get a quick read of everything from the videos and then i can concentrate well with MTB and Uworld.

hey drivenby, thanks, yeah i seem to understand your point of it becoming redundant after a while, step 1 was quite a while back but i gave my CS recently (waiting anxiously for the result)...but from what ive understood its mainly a review book + uworld....so i shall try and stick to the winning formula and hope it gets me over the line.thanks again.
