Default took newly released form 7... score fell by 19 points

I took the nbme 7 and got a 221.

a week back i took nbme 2 and had scored a 240.

I am numb right now. My exam is on 5th of June and I have recieved this shock. Just thinking about getting a score less than my step 1 is making me shiver

first of all it happens, facing it is the most imp thing.

secondly, have you done UW self assessment if not do it, compare the averages.

thirdly if your average on all nbme's is less then desired postpone
try reviewing MTB before doing it

How did u find nbme 7 in terms of difficulty? Does it contains ads and abstracts? I have heard nbme 4 is most predictive.

There are no drug ads and abstracts but the stems are pretty long and I was having some serious time management issues

i was just about to post something about nbme 7. i scored a 229 which shocked me as i did a 257 in uwsa :x this self asssessment was the toughest one yet put forth by the nbme. so just keep going over your weak spots- and any wrong qs you are having. you've got this!!!!! i take my test on june 11.

it's amazing what they can ask---i am trying to find answers to some of my missed qs (i missed 40) and i cannot really find them easily.

anyone up for going over some of the missed questions i had?

Seriously dude!! Its the most twisted nbme till date. Its kind of reassuring that other people are having similar experience with 7. I had 45 wrong.
How predictive or hyperpredicitve is uwsa though. Does it overshoots like step 1. If it does then by how much. I just want to cross 240 in ck. Aiming for peds residency this year

i just talked to a friend of mine who took test yday. he said the most imp thing is time management. the questions are random as you know what. you just have to keep the faith. this is one of the hardest tests on the planet but your preparation has to mean something...

i think they are keeping up the legacy of NBME 7's...for step 1, nbme 7 was a tough one...and so for step 2, it makes sense that they made nbme 7 difficult...

But will it be predictive? I didnt find nbme 7 hard in step 1 although it under predicted my score by 8 points.
I hope and pray that nbme 7 for ck better be not predictive...or it underpredict by 20 points

Question Nbme 7 vs Nbme 2

Hi for all of you that took the NBME 2 and NBME 7 ... r both of these same thing? The reason I ask is because I noticed that after they released NBME 7 they removed NBME 2 ... so does that mean both of them have the same questions and now they somehow just "updated" it? (I heard same thing about NBME 1 and 6... the fact that 6 is same as 1 but a little bit more updated). Thank you for your help and good luck to all of you taking the exam soon.

If they would have been the same then why would my score fall by 19 points. Nbme 7 is the big daddy of all

Default @sachinkumar & absolutjag9

Can you please compare the difficulty level and scoring curve of newly released NBME 7 with time tested NBME 4 ??? since most test takers in the past have equated nbme 4 and UWSA as best estimator of CK prep.

Did nbme 7 too and got 181
My exam was supposed to be 16/6 but will postpone it after that nbme (it's my first nbme)
Also got average 70% in UW second time
Read MTB twice
Don't know what to do now :-(

Received a 520/242

Definitely one of the tougher exams. Many of then can be answered 100% if reading the question throughly.

Default NBME 7 and actual exam scores

Hello I just took NBME 7 and got a 208, I went down for sure.

My goal is to get a 220 or greater on CK. Don't need a much higher score than that as I am applying to CaRMS and did well on the Canadian exams. Just need to pass of I can graduate.

I was wondering if any of you who took NBME 7 and the actual test could post your comparison as I take the exam in a week and don't want to delay any more. My uworld score is 72% 1st time.

Thanking you in advance!
