Smile My 97/224 CK experience

I am pleased to inform you guys that I've got 97/224

It took 9 months for me to prepare. I was studying 8-10 hours per day.

Materials I used:
  • Kaplan Lecture Notes WITHOUT VIDEOS. Internal Medicine 3 reads, the rest 2 reads.
  • U/W, Internal Medicine and Peds twice, others completely for the first time and only wrong questions for the second time due to shortage of time.
  • MTB-2 thorough first read, and revision of only some topics for the second time.

My NBMEs:
  • Form 4 eight weeks before exam 216.
  • Form 2 six weeks prior to the real exam 207.
About the Exam:
the questions are quite lengthy. Thus I was to pick a random answer for the last 2-3 questions during the last 30 seconds of the block time. After the exam I could not satisfy myself whether I'm failed, merely passed, or aced it?
This was the reason why I could not post my exam experience here, for which I apologize.

As others, I also had most questions from internal medicine and peds, followed by gyne and obs, psych and surg.

There were only about 10 slides that were mostly easy and familiar. For a biostatics question I had to use the calculator available on the screen. 3 audio questions which I didn't listen to at all due to shortage of time and solved them only from scenario.

Unfortunately, I used most of my break time early, so I had to do blocks 6,7, and 8 in a row, which I think was not good.

Since, it has been quite some days from the time I received my result, I am sorry to inform you late.

I would be pleased to answer questions you may have.

Thanks to forum staff for their invaluable efforts in providing us assistance and thanks to all members for the cooperation I had from them.

Wish you all the best.

I took my Step 2 CK yesterday in London. Was very tough I felt. If I get 224, I would be very happy! Congrats.

How long does it normally take between the exam and getting your results?

And do you check them online or do they send you a letter?

Thanks to all of you.

@ miss patho! The last month before exam I used mostly UW. My UW score for the first read was 63 %.

@ karansaraf! Usually it takes 3 weeks to receive the score. The results are announced on wednesday, and is received through email in PDF format. When you logg on to your ECFMG account and then click OASIS, there is an option for checking SCORE REPORT.

you guys have any input on FA step 2 CK for the boards? I have both MTB2 and FA. But im just wondering why so many students dismiss FA's version.

But thank you for posting your preparation. Gives me an idea of what i need to do during my clinical rotations.

I think FA for CK is not good. I replaced FA with MTB-2 and it worked for me..so I'd like to suggest u that replace FA with MTB. U don't need to read both.

Regarding necessity of other question banks, I think it is good to do Kaplan q bank as well if u have time, otherwise just evaluate urself with NBME and then plan... The reason y I didn't do Kaplan q bank, was shortage of time, not my intention...

Anyways, u may chose whatever works best for u...

Feel free to ask me any other question u may need to learn!
