Default ear plugs random

probably an extremely silly question and i apologize in advance for it !

The prometric website says -
" You are allowed to bring soft ear plugs (with no wires/cords attached) or center-supplied tissues in the test room."

I hate those soft loose ones they sell at the store and the ones the give at the center as well. I wanted to use my own earphones but cut off the cord and just use the buds. Do you think they will let me bring those in if i cut the cord? These are the only ones that don't give me a major headache! Thanks
