Question My last name is difficult for the SP!

hello docs...!!
My last name is Dr lingannan and i am sure it would be difficult to pronounce for the patients.... so when i introduce myself can i say

hello Mr so and so ...i am Dr Lingannan..... you can call me Dr ling as it will be easier for you??
or how do I phrase this sentence in a better way???

You can just call yourself Dr. L (I just used the first letter of my last name when introducing myself to SP's) or call yourself Dr. Lin; Or, you can make up your own last name that you find convenient. The SP's, won't be calling you by your last name in the encounter. If they were going to refer to you it would probably be "doc"
