Default CS Preperation

Hi guys! Got my CS result recently. Passed with high performance in all three sections. This was my second attempt. Before my first attempt I joined Kaplan's 5 day course in NJ. They prepare you (too) well for the communication part but NOT for the Patient Note. They actually misguided regarding the Note. Following their tips made me fail the first attempt in Pt. note section. After the shocking result I sat down and analyzed what went wrong. It seems that we need to spend more time (15 min) in writing the note and less (10 min) in history/exam/counseling. Since if you have not recorded it you have not done it. In my second attempt I spent 5 min more on patient note giving it the required amount of detail. As a result my pt interaction was 5 min less but got me a passing score with high on all 3 sections.

Thank you for your tips. I made also the Kaplan course in Chicago. But like you said they prepare you to comunicate, but It seems that you need more time in PN. I failed in STEP 2 CS, I took it in Houston.

congrat. for your success and thank you for information. I just registered for Kaplan in April in Passadena ,CA(I have no other option!) , the class finishes 17th , do you think if I choose 21st for exam ,3 days are enouhg for review?what is your recommendation for needed time between prep and exam date?providing the fact that I am familiar with exam format and have started to practice?do they provide lots of study material to read and review during the 5 day course?

Thanks very much - I was honestly dreading on my PN - it is really taking me 12-13 minutes to manage it at least in proper legitimate way. It was very strategic advice. Good look in ERAS - applications!

Congrats,I don't know that before so it means if we stay less than 15minute with the patient and the remaining time will be added to the patient notes entry ?is that correct ?
