Default Cs img experience!!! You can make it

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my CS experience with all of you, especially with IMGs out there who are afraid of this test.

1. YES IT IS TRICKY. IT IS NOT EASY if you get overconfident and YES YOU CAN MAKE IT.
2. I used FA and probably that is the only thing you need along with a partner. PARTNER is KEY. Literally I had only one week to study with my partner because he was busy with Step 1 and I was alone going through the FA but those 7 seven days we met and practice cases twice was the most important thing EVER.
3. I took my examen in Chicago in late May and my first case was a total disaster. I was so nervous that I forgot a lot of questions, manuevers, patient note was OK overall but the thing is the pressure is so intense that you forget things that on a regular basis with a normal patient you would not forget. I took a deep breath, I said to myself I could do this. The next thing I knew was that the test was over. Believe me when your read on this forums that time flyes and you do not even know about it.
4. I made a lot of mistakes: Forget sexual history on a young patient, forget to tell a chronic heavy smoker that he may have cancer, I forgot the leg rest in a lot of cases, wrong last name with two cases, etc. After the test I was recalling more and more mistakes and I had to stopped doing that.
5. The next 10 weeks before the results are HORRIBLE!!! And there is nothing yo can do to make it better, SO RELAX, GO OUT, DO SOMETHING ELSE, PERIOD, we have to deal with that. The sooner you realize that, the better.

I hope everybody gets the point and somehow this experience helps you going through this.

Best of luck to all of you.
