Mistakes I did:
- Forgot to raise foot thing 50% of times
- I always went out of the room earlier than others, thats because I just didnt do a lot of physical exam parts, sometimes crucial to the case i think maybe 70% of times i didnt do a physical that should have been done, i mean i really missed a lot. I always did cardio and pulmonary tho
- COMPLETELY failed one case, it was in the middle of the exam, that case was not really expected by me, and I was extremly tired. Maybe thats why I got nervous and messed up EVERYTHING, forgot to tie the gown back, forgot gloves, although I did remember both of those later in time, completely missed PMH. Maybe that case was not scored.
- I really messed up my DDX in 2-3 cases where I missed the obvious diagnosis or just guessed all of the differentials, others were mediocre Id say. Overall my PN was fine I think, its just I didnt ask or examine a lot of things I should have.

what I did right:
- always council
- did a good closure with SP's words
- adressed aditional concerns, they seemed to be satisfied with my answers

I passed (still cant believe), with borderline ICE (1 x from fail) and CIS, medium SEP. Should have done CK first, but still passed and thank God for that!!! Good luck to all who will be taking this test!

Hey guys, I passed too . My husband unfortunately failed the CIS part!
I don't know what could have been wrong ; can somebody tell me which part in CIS is very important that probably he didn't do ? and what are the CIS check list overall?

He passed his ICE as well as SEP with good performance.

I have no idea ; probably he is very serious , that's what I think .What are the the PEARLS? probably he did not follow those .

Need help as he needs to do it again in 2 weeks .

Thanks

Thanks
I also failed the CIS my first attempt. And then had to turn around and retake this horrible exam ASAP. This time I passed though.

I made 2 tiny changes this time but it made a huge change in my CIS score:

1) After EVERY chief complaint, I said "I am sorry to hear about your blah blah blah, I know it is bothersome, we are going to help you as quickly as possible."

2) SMALL TALK!!!! I am not the type to make small talk. I will engage when someone else does, but I do not naturally do it. But in every case this time I attempted some sort of small talk. Nothing big, due to time considerations. But like when they told me their job I would ask if they like it or maybe crack a stupid joke. Or when they told me they were married, I would ask how long and say congratulations.....

Honestly, those are the only two changes that I made. Obviously still do the checklist in FA to the best of your ability. But with those 2 changes, my score went from failing to not even coming close to the borderline area.
Subjective exam.

Try to relax. Eventually you will pick yourself up and move on. I know it is hard though. I also failed first attempt. It is miserable, and it doesn't make sense for them to threaten our dreams so far into the journey. I could have told them that I am a horrible actor and get stage fright before going to med school. And saved a ton of money.

But at this point you need to do the right thing. Retake the exam ASAP if you applying this year. And practice A LOT. Be prepared to not match this year. You may have to reapply next year after doing some research, but otherwise, life will go on and you will get there!!!

Ues you have a very good chance
Just practice more on the computer and finish the cases in first aid at least 3 times, use CSevideos
Practice with many stufy partners and take opinion from many people and listen to their feedback seriously
You will make it just believe in ur self

Hello,

Lurker for years, joined today after my Step 2 CS Result.

I have applied for 2015 Residency Programs, in Step 1 I got 234 whereas in Step 2 CK I got 252, however, in Step 2 CS I did not pass the SEP section while I did pretty well in CSI and ICE. I had done CS exam in Philadelphia.

Currently I have gotten few interviews which are from;

- University of Buffalo
- St. Joseph Mercy Oakland
- UPMC Mercy

...and few others.

I have not yet submitted my Step 2 CS score yet.

Now, I have few questions;

- What is best suggested option for me? Can I get matched into program with failed CS?
- I have seen last date in order to get CS score between 3 December to 31 December is 1 November, can I get a date before that?

I am devastated and really don't wish to spend another year. I went to Caribbean and I am not American Citizen.

Appreciate profusely.

I did retake it. Oct 8 results were my second attempt. I am in the process of applying this year. I am still waiting to hear back from most places I applied. I am hoping that match will go well, but who knows. I have 2 red flags now since I am coming from one of the Caribbean schools and I have the CS attempt....
I failed CIS the first time. The second time I made two changes. 1) More acting, 2) Small talk with sp's. It worked like a charm.
Anything else you would like to know, don't hesitate to ask.
