Hi guys I'm really nervous... just took the exam today. Please let me know if with these mistakes I'm going to pass or not:
1. did not do a neuro exam when i was suppose to on two cases.
2. called a patient another name by accident but corrected it.
3. did not check the thyroid when i was supposed to.
4. stuttered my way through the very first case... the sp looked a bit annoyed. but i think with my end review and counsel he began to be ok with me.
5. forgot to counsel a patient on drug use.
6. made up i think 3 3rd differentials... they were weak but they were sort of backed up by history findings.
7. 3-4 times a patient had to repeat things to me.
8. forgot some basic work-ups but had usually 4-5 work-ups that all made sense

things i did good (i think):
1. was empathetic with the patients as best as i could
2. tried to establish rapport with all the patients in every way; made a lot of them smile and some even laugh
3. every physical maneuver that i did was spot on, im sure
4. my HPI i think were all complete (on average i used 900 characters)
5. i would say 90% of my differentials were solid
6. always introduced myself properly
7. always summarized my findings and exited the meeting warmly
8. always answered their questions with the best of my ability

i can't share my location and i can't share my cases, but i can tell you the sp's were very nice and very responsive with me... do you think if i built a strong rapport some of my mistakes can be discarded? i'm scared my physical exam won't be on par with the new grading scheme... i did spot on tests regarding my diagnosis strictly a lot times (can't say more than that) rather than a full system exam.

im worried guys please give me some feedback

I also did not do complete neuro in 2 cases, completely forgot to do MMS in 1 case (where I had to) and in another did partial MMS, 3 of the cases I had no idea what the diagnosis was and made just 2 differentials. And I passed, with average performance, nothing was with the star, but SEP and communication was to higher end and ICE was in the middle, but nothing close to borderline. So, don't worry, you should pass

That doesn't seem serious enough to cause you not passing. In all seriousness, I doubt there's one person who did CS perfectly. All of us have done mistakes here and there. As long as it was not a fatal one and repeatedly done, I don't think that will cause a fail.

The ICE part rely heavily on PN. If you can compensate on that to cover for your missed PE, that will do I guess.

yes my PE was crappy at certain parts too.. i forgot to do a neuro exam and fundoscopy and other similar stuff that I have already forgotten and in one or two cases SPs asked me to repeat what I just asked..but i passed comfortably too in the end. So just sit back and relax. easier said than done but don't worry you will do just fine. :)

When I was waiting for my CS result, I think I got depression(though it got corrected with CS pass result and did not need ssris)

I used to think that there are two kind of people in this world----one those who have passed CS and second those who have not.

I guess we have to pass 7 cases only so if you did well on 7 cases then you are pass and make sure you invite us for party. :)
