Default what is the best test center for an IMG

hello friends, i would like to ask which of the CS testing centers is the best for IMG, regardless of whether the state is cheap or not, i mean people say that Texas center has a high pass rate compared to other centers, is that true and if true why is it true?? or its just rumors??

All are same. They are standardized. If you prepare well, you should be fine. A lot if IMGs here passed comfortably in the Philadelphia center, which was rumored as non IMG friendly.

thank you mister IM lover, i thought that when you are evaluated by the sp among IMG is better than to be evaluated among AMG, specially that am not a native English speaker ? or you have another opinion, thanks again

I don't think that matters eldasiss. Having an accent is not a problem as long as your speech is clear and native can understand you very well. When I took my exam, there were only 3 IMG, the rest 21 people were AMG. I passed with high performance in all three sections. So as long as you are well prepared, organized and empathetic in your encounter, that should not be a problem.

Don't be intimidated by your peers during the exam. Just focus on your performance. I know CS can be a daunting exam. I felt that way too. But it is really doable. The key is practice, practice, practice. So much that it will be a second nature to you on exam day.

Best of luck!

Not at all.. I get the nervousness as I was in your shoes several months ago and I too, got encouragement from posters here.

The time you need will depend of how much time you can dedicate to study. Most people take 1 mo. You can read CS experience threads. There are many useful tips there.

As what is the best way studying:
1. FA is your best resource.
There are also youtube videos that are a good source to learn how to approach the patient, how to ask qs effectively, do phys exam manuvers, etc.

2. After that find a partner to practice.
Ideally it should be those who are preparing the same exam. Live partner or skype partner doesn't matter. Mine was skype partner and one layman partner. Ask your partner to be honest in reviewing your performance. What you need to improve and how.

3. Practice all complete cases AND the mini cases. Incorporate the minis to the complete cases. Time it. Make it 9-14-21-23 minutes instead of 10-15-13-25. You'll be nervous and likely not make it the first time. But be persistent, you'll get better and faster as you go.

4. Always write PN even if you are the patient. Compare notes afterwards so you can learn from each others' strengths and weaknesses

5. Read the CS bulletin in usmle.org. So many people did not read it and made avoidable mistakes. That will be your most accurate info about the exam. What people tell you can be urban legend or assumptions.

best of luck!
