Default Abdominal Examination??

Why do we need to do abdominal examination in case of:
1. Hoarseness
2. Sleeping problems
First aid has mentioned the whole abdominal examination in both the cases.
This Q has been troubling me for the past 2 days.
Any help plzz

you do not need to.

FA will mention 3-4 systems to examine in each case, that will take the whole 15 mints encounter. In the real exam, do only general exam+ the exam related to the patient complain, that is it.

In Hoarseness, I would do neck and chest if there is time.
In Sleeping problems, depend on the overall likely diagnosis, if the patient story is toward psychological problems (Anxiety, Depression .. etc) I would do neck exam to rule out thyroid problems, but if the patient complains about physical symptoms like SOB, snoring, chest pain ... I would do chest exam.

The exam is easy and straightforward. Do not overwhelm yourself with these minor details.
