Question Will I fail the CS?

Hi there
I just did my exam and here's what I missed
forgot closure in one case
forgot draping in two cases
forgot introducing myself in one case
forgot many many relevant history and exam points in several cases

Will I pass the CS? What do you think guys!

These are all not Fatal Mistakes. You can still pass with all these errors.
As long as you were understood by the SPs and demonstrated enough compassion and professionalism you are likely to pass the CS.

Tell us when you get your results

Unhappy What would count as "fatal mistakes"?

Hello! I took my CS exam yesterday and I was reading this post when I encountered the phrase "fatal mistakes", and that's exactly what I was wondering yesterday... How bad does one have to do on the exam to be failed? What are the elements that divide a "pass with lower performance" from a "fail"?

Because I had many small mistakes... So, will I still be able to pass?

Any inputs or thoughts would be appreciated

hi
when are you expecting results
I made some mistakes but I am trying not to think on them at all
maybe its good to not worry and only pray and wait, I have heard alot of people who make some big and some small mistakes and pass, Ihave heard that people who really mess up really bad and dont study dont pass so I think if you put the time and worked hard for it there is a very good chance of passing even with small mistakes.
let us know and I will post my results too
good luck for them

I think you will pass , I got my results 4 days ago and I passed(border line to high performance),I did alot of mistakes I forgot counseling on 7 cases missed closure due to bad time management in 1 case, some other mistakes in PN and examination...
so its normal to feel the way you do ......just try to relax till the results day

Contributing to the "will I fail" anxiety - I'm worried I'm not asking enough relevant questions in the ROS. I'm not sure what I'm doing right now is enough for Data Gathering.

I never forget the basic elements like onset/duration/progression/previous episodes/aggravating/alleviating factors of the CC, and on a similar note, I never forget my LIQORAAA (in pain cases). I also never forget PMH/full social/surgical/OBGYN/occupation/meds/allergies and travel/diet/appetite/weight/etc using a modified PAMHUGSFOSS that I do. However, I do forget possibly important questions - like skin/hair changes (such as hirsutism) in amenorrhea, falls or head trauma in cases of dementia (or neuro cases in general), specifically asking about redness or swelling in cases of joint pain... you get the drift. It's those very specific questions that are extremely important for a good ROS. If the SPs volunteer SOME information when I summarize and say "is there anything else you'd like to discuss, or anything you would like to add to my history?" then it won't be that big of a deal but if they don't typically give away information then it could certainly make things difficult for me.

I won't have any problems with the CIS or SEP parts of the exam.

u will have problems with hpi
my advice to u is to think like this:
weight gain for eg u have a ddx pregnancy
hypothyroidism pcos atypical depression
u ask about these conditions from ur head
ski hair changes
heat cold intoleance
appetite changes
bowel habits changes
hoarseness
fatigue
depression difficulty concentrating
difficulty sleeping/hypersomnia
guilt feelings etc
lmp
menstrual peiods frequency
tampons changed
cotraception etc
hirsutism for pcos
so the questions u will ask
will depend on ur ddx that will come
from ur head!! No need to memorize
same thing for knee pain
u think septic arthritis trauma
gout/pseudogout sle osteoarthritis
now u ask
trauma history
warmth
redness or swelling
function
other joints affected
pain and stiffiness
rashes oral ulcers photosensitivity fatigue
fever or chills
fingers change color on cold(raynaud's)
then systems chest pain palpitations
dyspnea hemoptysis
weakness numbness seizures headaches
hematuria
abdominal pain tick bite for lyme disease
u get my drift
so think about the ddx and then ask questions

If you were talking to me, I took my exam a couple of days after I posted in this thread, which was something like 8 months ago. I ended up doing great, with a star in ICE, which was my best category in terms of performance.
