at the day i finished my exam i felt good. I did couple of mistakes and I posted them here in a separate thread previously. I was saying that my chances of passing were 50/50 . But within the last month I discovered that I screwed another case, forgot some important investigations to write and right now I am feeling very very very bad. I am pretty sure I failed

does anyone know how do we receive the results ? I mean do we receive them on our email ? or do they notify us on our emails that our results are ready and we have then to login to our ecfmg account and see them ?

I gave mine for second time, on March the 9th, I don't know what to think anymore, it doesn't matter what you do to try not thinking about it; always I ended up finding my self trying to remember what did I do wrong... I believe there should be more details in the reports, at least to help to orient your efforts to ammend the mistakes done in the previous attempt. Yes you find in your report if you failed in ICE, or CIS or SEP, but there are so many details in each one, and the evaluation is mostly qualitative. People post their stories here "I did this wrong, I frogot to do this..." And they passed; meanwhile some others felt they did better and they failed... Kind of feel that something else needs to be done in the evaluation method...

I'm sorry to hear about your first attempt. What component did you fail in if you don't mind sharing.

I failed in CIS, but the only thing I remember was: I forgot to pull the leg rest for one patient and the rest went no so well with that particular patient. I suspected a couple of thing that may be wrong but certainly I don't know what else went wrong... ensive::sweat:

We're you unable to do the closure or answer their difficult questions?? I seriously doubt a single case can fail you. It has to be something you did or didn't do in the majority of cases, right??

You probably will get your results today, join the crowd man !!

Ecfmg says majority of people will have results today, but 99% of people will definitely have their results on the third Wednesday of May.
So I'm hoping today's is the day ..

Congrats guys! I'm still waiting and kinda worried about the ICE part.
I did the following, maybe someone can shed some light:
-missed ddx on 3-4 cases (may have put it as 2nd or 3rd)
-for some ddx I put some wrong supporting points
-I always put 3 ddx but I feel that may have been a bad idea, some of them were really a stretch (with 1 supporting point)

Thanks for any input guys

Congratulations to all those who passed and to those who didn't, don't give up you guys will do well next time!

I also passed, Alhamdulillah! Here's my assesment. For those who've not yet received their results, fret not. You guys will hopefully fare good. I did really dumb mistakes so I'm guessing it's mostly based on luck. Here is an overview of my mistakes.

My CS Mistakes. Houston, Feb 25th.

Good luck and congrats again!

I checked with other people. I think you need to have 6/11 stars in the borderline area to pass. I think left of borderline is fail, not borderline itself. So assuming you have 6/11 stars to the right of borderline, I think you passed by way more than one star. Congrats anyhow.

Do you mean 6/11 stars to the right of the LEFT border of the shaded area??

-missed ddx on 3-4 cases (may have put it as 2nd or 3rd)
-for some ddx I put some wrong supporting points
-I always put 3 ddx but I feel that may have been a bad idea, some of them were really a stretch (with 1 supporting point)

Thanks for any input guys
Hey dude, I did the exact same thing on ICE. I was worried as heck and ended up passing with high performance by atleast 3 or 4 xs at the end. As long as your physical was focused and you put all the information you got on exam in the note, a few (3-4) weak DDX won't hurt you too much. Don't worry! I did the same thing!

Hey!!

Will briefly share my experience, because it may be useful for someone

I had 2 months to study for CS, but couldn't start studying before step 1 score came out. So I guess I ended up with 5 full weeks to study. For the first 2-3 weeks, I read first aid mini cases and most of big cases. Then I went to Ximedus course in Florida, for 3 days. After the course I had around 10 days practice with a live study partner.

In the day of the exam I was super nervous. I mean, I had the feeling that I had so much more to study.. I didn't even practice all the big cases with my study partner and was feeling sick in the day of the exam. But the majority of cases were in FA and the sample patients are nice.. All the staff at Atlanta test center was super nice too, so it made me feel a little more comfortable.

I always read here in this forum people saying that they don't know how they fail, because they did almost everything right, with just 1 or 2 small mistakes. I can tell you, I made MUCH more mistakes than that, so was freaking out while waiting for my scores But it ended up to be ok and I passed! Even with plenty of small stupid mistakes So I think it is complicated to compare scores, because people will never know what they made wrong or right in the exam! Anyway, just try not to freak out if you make mistakes in the exam, or you will have the worse 2 months of your life while waiting for this score to come out!

Wish you the best of luck!

Default passed CS

hey guys! so glad to pass CS, had the exam on 27th Mar in Phili.
everyone has own experience. my experience is:
1. if you are an IMG and have worked in a comparable health system you don't need to worry abt it, too much. i gave it 2 weeks and it was enough.
2. if you have no clinical experience and you are an IMG from non-comparable country then take it very seriously and give due time. practice with someone who has passed CS.
3. you must be so fluent in English that you have no worries abt language part before booking this exam.
4. Centre does not matter; so come out of the shell of denial and gather some insight into your own weaknesses; this will benefit you more than any blameful defense mechanism.
Good luck!!
