Help Failed in these subcomponents of the CS Exam

Hi,

I am an IMG, My score report is given below.

Mainly I think I had low performance in Professional manners and rapport..which could not be compensated by the other 2 sub components, so overall failed in CIS... passed in ICE and SEP

I think I did use soap for hand wash in one encounter , and SP noticed it.

Any chances if I go for Recheck..

I'm disappointed a lot ..

Please advise

Yes you need to work on Professional manners and rapport but more importantly is the Data gathering, your range is beyond the scale in date gathering (that's why you see the extra small star at the end of spectrum).

There's a long discussion about failing in data gathering here
Data Gathering Step 2 CS

I don't think hand washing is a reason for failure.

And I don't think a score recheck would change anything.

Search But I failed only in CIS but not in ICE

Dear Step Taker ,
Thanks for your reply.
I would like to say that I passed in ICE and SEP components but failed only in CIS. This is because My PN compensated for low performance on data gathering .
Even for CIS, in INFORMATION SHARING and Questioning SKILLS I think I crossed the borderline and the bar is more in the high performance area ...

But the only thing is that Professional Manners and Rapport was stuck in low lying areas ?
Donno why , I followed the template , I closed and counselled every case ,asked their hobbies for few,I smiled and wished every patient , for one lady I even praised her nails and she was laughing like heaven. I counselled one old SP in out of box style , he was sure satisfied and was smiling by my approach . Another teen aged SP was smiling heart-fully after I answered her Challenge Qst by means of Dialogue rather than over-using any medical jargon of standard FA closure statements !

I was professional yet was smiling and gentle , Asked permission for every action of PE , even for keeping my writing pad on the stool , I did ask permissions !
I said "Madam" , "Sir" at the end of each statement or question !

Yes I faced one non-co operative SP in early thirties ...I asked him 2- 3 times for him to open up as it was necessary for proper medical evaluation and diagnosis. And he finally yielded.

What else constitutes Professional rapport and Manners...If it is so subjective and finally boils down to Liking or Disliking a Candidate , then it Becomes a Personal Opinion rather than an non- biased Professional Standardized Patient Opinion ...

I have a feeling that all the SPs didn't score me so negatively ...maybe there is some mistake in adding up ...So should I go for the recheck ?

If 12/12 SP 's (all of them ) felt awe that I treated them like a Professional , Courteous, Confident " Doctor "
rather than a "Over pleasing Student" going for exams !!!..... Should I accept their verdict ...with no regrets ...What is step 2 CS all about My friend?

Default CIS failure.

I too failed in the CIS component alone. I did everything I can to please the patient and counselled the patient each and every time and showed my empathy too. Its so disheartening.
