Count me in. I gave my exam in Chicago. Worried about the ICE component and the CIS to some degree. Im worried about my DDs. For many of the cases i had just 2 and in two case just one. Im worried that i'l fail because i made a patient walk even though she had pain in her ankle. I saw doctors doing that during my rotation im US so i thought it was ok to make them walk :/ i have a feeling it will cost me dearly. Also during one of my encounters i used the otoscope to shine light into the patients eyes. the SP got a little pissed and said why are u pointing that pointy thing at me. :/ in one patient i forgot to councel about alcohol. And in pediatric case i actually mistook the daughters name as the mothers name although i did apologize profusely :/

Just b/c I did well in practice doesn't mean anything. It is a positive predictor but nothing more than that. I was very anxious and had a lot of mistakes. But either way, all I want is that "pass" haha...

Calm down guys! I passed with high performance in all three components. Here are my mistakes, hope many of you will feel better.
Ran short of time in ist case. Forgot to mention rectal exam to the patient as well as in the notes.
2nd case was okay. Though forgot to do pulses and JVP in the examination and it was pertinent
In one case had no clue what's wrong with the patient. He was rude In another case I kept on addressing the patient by wrong surname corrected in the end with horror.
Forgot to mention pertinent family history in one case
Forgot the name of medicine
Here and there forgot to mention some important stuff in the patient notes
Had 2 DDs in 3 cases
Two of the sp's asked me to repeat when they could not understand.
Comfortably passed with high performance in all 3 components.
This exam doesn't demand perfection. Just want to make sure that you have the basic clinical skills and mannerism. Best of luck! I know the wait is no less than a torture.

I can't say that I did but at the same time I had to do a 13th case. They said there was an "error" with one of the cases. They wouldn't say anything else about this "error".

You are worrying without any reason. Unless you had not entered the correct badge ID, you would not be able to write notes. Just under too much stress you tend to forget things.

Hi Guys and Gals,

I did my exam in Philadelphia on July 10.
Am quite worried about the result. To begin with I forgot to wash hands in three stations. and then sent a patient in acute distress home b/c I did not look carefully at his VS.
Did OK in the other 9 stations. I just hope that I pass! Biggest worry is ICE.
I am trying to supress the memory of exam till Aug 12 and focus on CK for now.

Cool

Hello, I did my CS at Philly on May 28th, have been trying to suppress and think of other things like work, truth is, if I dont pass I dont get my certification for this years match =/. So crossing my fingers and praying that is a pass, did mistakes like a normal person, but 3 close friends have failed so far (and they came out of the center very confident) and that even stresses me out even more. Nothing else to do than wait...
Ill be posting my mistakes when I get the score.
wish everyone here a PASS!!!
hopefully we get our score in week and a half.

Same here. Tho some programs don't require the CS results by the time of registration, most will ask about it during the interview:-/

Passed !

I felt that I made a lot of mistakes and missed to ask many questions. This was the longest torturous wait for results. I am glad it is over. I was concerned as my friend with very good english proficiency failed in ICE part. My ICE touched borderline on the lower side.

Congratulations to those who passed. And, if you didn't, please dont be discouraged. Work hard on your flaws and you will definitely pass.

No time to rest now.

2 down 1 more to go!

Aim : #2016match

I PASSED too. I am actually very surpried. Was almost convinced I'd fail. Made tons of mistakes, did not put more than 2 diagnosis in any case, was not able to finish 2-3 notes (Investgation section blank) and was not sure about the diagnosis in most cases. I really don't know what it takes to pass this test. Jyst glad this is over.

Default passed step 2 cs! my view.. without asking

Passed!!! and here are my tons of mistakes despite them I passed. I'm honestly putting it down here, as I've seen people saying a lot of stuff about CS which I don't find is depicting the situation correctly

1.a)Forgot to do CNS exam in a CNS case
b)did not write it then
c)made first diagnosis absolutely wrong, my mind was blocked so wasn't getting the right word at all

2 forgot to ask all relevant ROS questions in joint like cases, I also believe that I was confused about right and left side pain and bungled it up in the patient note
3 In another 2 cases I'd put the first diagnosis wrong
4 I'd scribbled something on paper which I could not read then, and I forgot a lot, i missed writing radiation in all cases and did not quantify severity even in one case, just wrote mild/moderate etc.
5.My PEs were complete quackery, just bare bones, never more than two-three minutes, I would touch the hammer without seeing where it had hit and whether any reflex came or not. Tried to do focussed exam and if I felt I had 1 minute I'd do card/pulm, but I did not do that in most cases
6. In one case forgot to pull out the leg rest and then apologised profusely, and then also washed hand twice (despite sanitary liquid being perfectly fine) as I'd touched the pad and with all that my CIS is high and tearing the scoresheet
7.In two cases I could not even understand what were they saying in challenging question, I asked them to repeat once and then I started my script of "I'll tell you later about jungaboogla" or whatever pattern there sound was making.
8 I'd never put any pertinent negative, and in most cases just something like vital signs supporting in PE section of diagnosis
9. NO FUNDOSCOPY ever
All this I did despite a lot of practice with a live person for around 2 months. I felt like crap. I was just scared on the day of exam and did so many mistakes in the patient note but still passed. So what did I do right, may be this
1) I was trying to be extremely nice to the SPs, doing unnecessary haha hihi, and almost crying with empathy when needed, apologised anytime doing something wrong and correcting it
2)I filled all the sections with PAMHUGSFOSS, and some PE and some DDs with 3 supporting (barely at times), and tons of Invx (the whole picture could give an idea of universe of diagnosis I was thinking about)
3)Finished all encounters at least a minute or two before
4)I asked this question at least two times in each case "Do you have anything more to tell me or ask me" and got lot of things and findings I was missing. SPs were toooooooooo nice.
5) Counselled on anything in the world in each case, summarised just after the hx and then after physicals, always gave a general diagnosis despite knowing at times, such as "some problem with heart or lung etc"
6)Did not kill any SP

So, my point is, may be its just my view, but despite the changes in the scoring pattern, if you remain nice to SPs you may pass, as they'll tell you so much, then come out and try filling every section of PN whatever you remember, give enough time for that
However, my friend who took it with me on the sameday and did completely different set of mistakes as 1)no haha hihi 2)no sumarising ever, ranout of time in one case, left PE in between and no counselling there, could not get to diagnosis and missed whole set of inx in one case.
His strength were very good PEs and he also passed with high performance.
So its an overall thing which makes you pass. But being nice is still the best and easiest bet.

PASSED!!!! higher performance on the three, with a star on CIS and SEP,
want to say that you cant be perfect!! dont stress so much about it,
also want to say that Philly center rumors are JUST RUMORS, I passed and my friends passed there as well.
be there for the patient, be genuine, make conversation like you would do with a real patient, show real concern.
finally DONE with this!!! ECFMG certified WOOHOO!!!!! what a blessing!!
cant describe my happiness!!!!!!!!!!
and I agree with the post up there, for me it was THE MOST torturous wait for results, couldnt sleep yesterday, more than step1 or ck.

Default Passed

Well, this was the last step needed for the 2016 MATCH. A bitter sweet moment indeed as I passed but my fianceé did not. I canīt understand, we practiced together, we did all of the cases in the first aid. I am pretty confident we performed similarly but in the end our results were quite different. Congratulations to all who passed, and for those who didnīt. It doesnīt end here, take a deep breath and keep going forward.
