I definitely do NOT RECOMMEND IT I took their course in Manhattan and it was Terrible they are all heavy accent Imgs trying to teach out of Kaplan book
They have old patients that don't help at all and don't offer feedback
I think There are better options out there

Default My OWN Feedback

I took NYCS PREP in August 2015. It's a three-day course with the third day being a 6-case mock exam. The cost of the course is usually 1000$.

The first day of the course is given by Dr.Somas. An ENT surgeon. He introduces you to the basics of the CS. He gives you advice on where to concentrate more and important points thatg you need to elaborate in History taking. He does one or two sample patient notes and shows you his way in writing the PN. He also does all the physical exams maneuvers from head to toe.

The Second day: is doing as many cases as you can. Every student does at least one case in front of everyone. The SP and Dr. Somas give you feedback and then everyone writes their PN. Dr.Somas then reviews as many PN as he can.

The third day is the mock. The SP gives you instant feedback after the case and then move on to the next case. The cases are much more difficult than the real exam and make you lose your nerves. I don't think you can use it as an asessment exam but you definitely come out with a good idea about your strengths and weaknesses. If you hang around in NY to the next week, you may be able to arrange with Dr.Somas to do another mock the next weekend.

Pros: 1) very strong PN teaching. You will improve a lot in that aspect after this course,
2) does all PE that you may need in the exam and will show you how to write in the PN. He wants you to memorize his PN way down cold.
3) gives u a lot of abbreviations to use in the PN that are used in US hospitals. Trust him, all of his abbreviations are legit even if you feel like he abbreviates everything.
4) very good feedback from the SPs.
5) relatively good price
6) many american native speakers attend the program and this gives IMGs could exposure to every day language used by americans
7) exam rooms similar to the real deal

Cons: 1) Should be five days maybe.
2) mock exam is a practice exam not an assessment exam.
3) sometimes the number of attendees exceeds the number of available slots for the mock and this causes some troubles.
4) you have to attend the course with a good background about CS and some practice beforehand. It just adds the final touches for you.

Passed the CS at the end
