Clock when apply for CS? before or after result of step 1?

Hi...
i m having step 1 exam next week. I m confused about step 2 CS date. When i should apply for CS? should i do after getting my result of step 1 or just now as seats are getting filled up?
I am not able to decide. I am confused what if i score low This is just a thinking. I know i shd not think like this but still cant control. Guys help please..

wow man, you're running late on this. Dates for the CS exam are reducing as we speak, the reason is that CS will change. So you might want to check the CS forum.

Just FYI, if you pay and apply, you have 1 year to decide, and you can change dates, its very flexible. My advice, apply now, decide later. Because, takes 3 weeks for the application, and another couple of days for the scheduling permit.

Here's the deal

If you are going to do USMLE no matter what, apply for CS NOW!!!!

If you have a backup plan and you are not planning to pursue this path in case you score low in step 1, wait for the results and then apply.

Thanks for replying. I m gonna apply. Can u please tell in application what to fill in employment status? Is it gonna affect my visa? Is it mentioned on visa letter?

Well, are you employed?
If yes, please do write that you are, if not, don't.

I do not know about how it would affect your Visa. As far as I know, those details in your application are only for statistical purposes and will not affect the Visa letter they provide you.

I am not sure though...

The best scenario for a Visa is if you are a student and you have a letter from the Dean stating that you need to get back to your country to complete your course.
