Default Step 2 CS exam experience (PASS)

So, I promised that i would come back here and write. Well, I took it in Chicago. Well, how did I study?
I started by reading the minicases on my own and understanding the differential for the most common causes like cough, abdominal pain and everything.
Then, I got a study partner on Skype, the usual stuff. We both alternated from being the doctor to the patient and gave feedback. Now, i know it;s not ideal, but we even carried out physicals by just stating what we were doing so that we knew what we had to do. I recommend a live partner. So we did around 3 times for all the 44 cases, then we went over mini cases. I did for about 3-4 weeks and 4-5 hours during the day. Honestly, i didn't study a lot for this exam. My strong points were CIS and SEP, i was scared about ICE. Sources: FA Step 2 cs 5th edition and Youtube videos for all the system examination

Exam Day: All my cases were from FA and long cases, i was very pleased by that. I had a LOT of mistakes and by that i mean, i forgot some stuff in every encounter. However, i was nice to the patient, treated them well and did my best on that front. For ICE (which is what I was scared going in) I just asked questions related to the case and did the whole PAMHUGSFOSS and the THENFRCSPUBSAWID. I counseled as soon as the pt spoke about smoking, drinking and unprotected sex because i didn't want to leave it till the end. I also, did a very focused PE, I DIDNOT hear heart/lung for everyone.
PN: started with differentials and carried on with investigations, HPOI and then PE. nothing fancy, but summed up everything, I did not write pertinent negatives in my physical finding for the DDX, i wrote them in my HPI. I also did not write all 3 DDX for all the cases, this was my breakdown
1 DDX : 3 cases
2DDX : 7 cases
3DDX : 2 cases

After the exam I felt horrible, I had forgotten to check for TVF in some patients, i had forgotten if I had mentioned the side of the pain in the patient note and i was worried about not writing the 3 DDX for all three. However it all turned out fine. I passed with high and star for SEP and nothing touched borderline not even ICE which i am happy about. I know this test is tough for a lot of people ( it was for me also, my second attempt, because I didn't take it that seriously the first time) I hope you all succeed in this and don't stress. Take a deep breath before each encounter, smile and be a doctor because that is what you are.

P.S: While speking to a person in my life I got this ground breaking piece of information and I want you all to understand this, " THIS TEST OR ANY THING WILL NOT DEFINE WHO YOU ARE, YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON AND A GOOD DOCTOR, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!"

All the best guys!

Happy to help if you have some questions!
