Default taking notes during encounter

Hi. I wonder if it is OK to write everything the SP is telling us on the paper they gave us at the beginning while taking the history... Or it can be considered as not so good for the connection with the patient? It's probably a stupid question, and of course at the hospital we write everything, but I was wondering if it may give us bad points during the encounter the day of the exam...I'm not trusting so much my memory with the stress on the D-Day though...
Thanks for your input

Hey guys, nobody here to tell me his/her experience on the DDay about taking notes? Even in practice videos I don't see any notes-taking going on. Am I the only one here to need to write things down to not forget details? Come on!

ramennoodles what I did was I made a check list I followed in my head like pamhugsfoss I got some good ones from csevideo and I immediately put it down on my blue paper while I was at the door then when I went in I would ask how long did you have the headache and under duration I would put what the sp said. really check csevideo and watch they way she does it in the videos. it has the doorway info up for like in csevideos a min that is the time that you make you list so you can just add to it while talking to the sp.

also what I learned from them was ask the sp is it ok if take notes while we talk and that also gives you a chance to write what you need and feel relaxed. dont worry as the cases go on you will relax its not like step one you wont be stressed the whole time.

get some good reliable study material I recommend csevideo 2015 and the fa get a sp and just practice the videos over and over then when you take the exam it will come natural its what I did and it worked great. gl pm me if you need more help

Thank you for taking the time to answer, Exammaster! I'm going to check cse videos. I'm practicing on UWorld right now, and it's good for the patient note, but they definitely need to put some videos of a typical encounter in each case. English is not my first language, and to listen standard sentences for each situation will definitely help...
Thanks again!
