Question Local knee problem and DTR

My CS training partner studied on Gold USMLE courses. There they said that if a patient has local knee problems like pain, injury etc (but no problems with spine or neuro) you should to check knee reflex (DTR) but in other side i.e. unaffected joint.

What do you think?

P.S. My partner and I both understand what for DTRs
Instead of saying “we don’t know why,” though, say “idiopathic.” It sounds so much smarter.
