Question Wrist Pain and SP Hand Shake?

Hi all:

Can we shake SP's hands when the doorway information already says that

SP has wrist pain or palm pain or hand pain?

In CSE, she shakes hand when SP has wrist pain when she finished( knee pain

case).

Thank you!

You can ask the SP if he/she can shake hands!

if the patient has right hand pain or right wrist pain and if you see him holding on to this hand or wincing in pain, then please dont shake hands with them....not even at the end of the encounter. if you cause them pain my shaking their hands, then you are going to be marked negatively on CIS component. this point has been clarified in jaypee's video atlas of usmle step 2 cs.
