Thumbs Up Jaypee's Video Atlas for USMLE Step 2 CS Cases and Tips - Booklet and DVD

I would like to recommend Jaypee's Video Atlas of USMLE Step 2 CS Cases and Tips as a good study material for the CS exam especially for the new format.

It contains 8 case encounters with PE and a discussion following each case. This DVD is also suited to the needs of IMG's.

Some sample videos of the dvd are available on youtube

Here's the Amazon Link

I also found this DVD a useful tool for the exam along with FA.

I also consulted this DVD before my exam and it helped clarify a lot of queries in my mind. It is a useful product especially with the new format coming into effect soon.

Well the main thing which has undergone change is the patient note...now they want you to enlist 3 differentials instead of 5 and then they want you give reasons on history and physical examination to support your differentials.

What this means is that you need to be more careful about the questions which you ask during the case and enlist your differentials carefully.

Plus they would pay more attention to the communication and interpersonal skills section...it would be mandatory for you to counsel the patient and explain them the next course of management.

So, you were talking about those who are taking exam after June 17, 2012, right? The patient note having 3 differentials with explanations of history and physical exam findings??

I literally started sweating because my exam is in 2 days and I was not practicing that way... Then I went to the usmle website, and checked the orientation material again....now I'm relieved.....!!!!

I need a suggestion, since you are done with your exams...do you think the cases of First Aid are enough?? What should I do in these last 2 days? I am freaking tensed about the whole thing. I really don't know what's going to happen...my flight is tomorrow......

FA cases are enough...I did some cases from UW and Jaypee's video atlas as well.
In the last two days, you should just relax and just practice the basics. It is important to be relaxed before the exam.

Im sure u will do well. Best of luck

The DVD is also available on Flipkart now. I met one of the authors at a seminar and they are planning to come out with a new edition which will feature new cases.
