Question Simple explanations of Diagnostic Workup for SP's

Has anyone made a list of what to say if patient asks about a test..

For example, if patient asks what is an EEG, you say 'It's a graphical recording of your brain function..

Mind sharing your explanations?

ECG - electrical recording of your heart. It can help us diagnose some conditions pertaining to your heart

USG - imaging modality in which we use sound waves to map the interior structures of your abdomen. It tells us about the normal anatomy and if something is wrong inside your belly

CT - advanced imaging modality which provides us with the detailed anatomy of the body part.

Endoscopy - we introduce a tube with a camera on one end through your mouth/ anal opening and it helps us visualise the interior structure of your bowel. It might be a bit uncomfortable but let me assure you that we will be using sedation and local anesthesia before the procedure.

Have a look at the Irfan Mir & Neeraj Notes.. they explain your questions well!

Just google for them, you'll find them easily!
