I recently started preparing for the CS exam by going through the First Aid Step 2 CS book and I am going through the book on my own, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how I should go about preparing for this exam when doing it by myself!
First Aid for the CS is a great book and it has everything you need to know about the exam.
The way you can do that is by reading the first few chapters carefully (no memorization required) and then the mini cases where you have to a little bit memorize the differential diagnosis for each chief complaint and scenario then you hit the practice cases.
The practice cases should be done with a study partner to benefit the most. However, if it absolutely that you don't have anybody to practice with then you may practice with yourself.
I recommend you look at the mirror when you do the history taking and practice on a doll or a pillow or whatever for the physical examination.
