Help How long to study for 2cs and NRMP opening

Hi all,

I'm a born and raised in America AMG who forewent a residency after graduating 4 years ago and went into biotech (very bad choice). I really want to go back into clinical medicine and do what I went to school to do, practice medicine. I failed both steps my first time five years ago now. I'm stdying for and takeing 2CK at the end of June. Im wondering if I could get some advice on how long to study for 2CS? Also I don't see openings until september and I'd like to have my score in as close to the opening of the NMRP as possible. Is september to late? you think about 2 months is enough time to study? Any help and/or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

September is considered too late because you won't be getting the results until November-December.

The NRMP match is in March 2013 but most residency programs won't be looking for applicants after December.

Probably the fact that you are an AMG might give you some advantage.

I would suggest you apply in ERAS early and mention that you are going to do the CS soon, don't delay your ERAS application until you get the CS results.
