Help We need only three differential diagnoses in the new CS patient note!

hi, As per new pattern cs we need to write three diagnosis with positive and negative findings so learning only 3 accurate dd for each case in first aid is enough or should learn all

You are right the new Patient Note has limited DDx to three conditions maximum as we can see here

However, I don't advise to memorize what FA DDx is listing for each case/chief complaint. The reason being, in the exam you won't see exactly the same cases as those in FA!

For example, in FA, there's a case of diabetic patient presented with foot anesthesia and exertional dyspnea and your DDx is Diabetic Neuropathy and Heart Failure. But in the exam you might face a diabetic case with two completely different DDx such as nephropathy and hypercholestrolemia.

So your DDx is tailored to the case at hand.

Use FA to learn the general approach and how to come up with DDx but not the DDx list verbatim (avoid memorization).
