Default failed cs

hi there,
I am an IMG.I got my cs results on 20th june and was failed in data gathering.I have 260 on step 1 and will try my best to get good score in ck too.I am now planning for 2014 match and will have 4-5 months clinical experience by then.I just want to know what are my chances for IM residency??I have heard that there will increase in number of US graduates from this year.If I do get into any program, what kind of program I should expect???And that kind filter do the programs use to filter the applicants??
Plz any one with experienxe help me..

Hey

Sorry to hear about your CS results. You have a really good Step 1 score. Thus, I do not think that an IM residency is out of reach. You need to do just as well on your CK.

It is good that you will have clinical experience by the time you apply. I think that will aid you a lot in doing well in CS as well.

Yes, the number of US grads have been increasing a LOT.

Having a failed attempt at any boards is a red flag. But you must apply broadly, apply to university and community programs.

Board scores, US citizenship, US clinical experience, are just some of the filters that programs use. But since you have not taken CK - it might be a little premature of a talk right now.

Focus on what is in front of you for now. Good luck!!
