Stethoscope Lung Exam Posteriorly Only!

Hey,

If I have a case of COPD or lung cancer or hemoptysis , is it OK to examine the lungs through the BACK ONLY? without examining the lungs through the CHEST. OR is it must to examine the chest anteriorly?

Thank you very much.

Default I would

I would auscultate just because you will have to do a cardiac auscultation anyway so might as well place the stethoscope at the apices (or is it apexes never can get that one right) as well, quick points since it will only take a few seconds. However if you forget I don't THINK that would cause a huge problem either. Hope it helps!
