Question CS exam prior to CK exam?

I need advice from the forum staff and forumites with experience. Is it ok to do my CS exam before me CK exam? What are the disadvantages? I have CS exam date in november and plan on writing CK in december. I am currently studying for my Ck then i plan on switching and start preparing for my CS exam about 3 weeks before exam date. Then resume CK studies after my CS exam. I cant push CS exam to december coz its full and i need to take my CS exam before January so i can have my CS results in february to enable me to qualify for step 3 which i plan on doing early 2013. What do you think?

Thanks. But don't you need the CK knowledge to be able to confidently do the CS exam? I mean does somebody who has not yet done CK need to put in more work when preparing for the CS exam, or is there no difference with somebody that has already done the CK exam?

I think that Step 2 CS isn't much of a knowledge exam, it is an exam of acting and communicating in English, if you know the differentials and workup mentioned in FA then you have enough medical knowledge to take the exam, so just PRACTICE, PRACTICE, and PRACTICE. Also, you are studying for CK right know and your CS is just one month before your CK, this is almost the same thing as taking CS after CK (you will most likely be doing UW questions during the last month of CK preparation.

Thanks so much basket687, that has given me a very good picture about the CS exam. I really appreciate, God bless you.
