What's the point of seeding this "really scary" hysteria and panic here?? Is it gonna help those who are in prep to take the test?? Or will it just add more anxiety? There are hundreds of people who ere registered for CS in Philly who are unable to change anything. What do you suggest? To sit and shake in panic?

It's not about shaking and panicking it's about being informed.
If I have my CS scheduled in Philly, I would definitely change the center to avoid the computer freezing issue.

Multiple software problems were reported and discussed since USMLE went to computer-based testing. This refers not only to CS, but other steps as well. The craziest crap I've heard about was computer freezing during step 1 with the timer still counting down. I do agree that they are being too strict and never favor a student in cases like this. They never add time, never review the results, never allow to retake. They just say "we are sorry, you have what you have".
What I think is wrong is trying to pick some particular test center based on reports like this... Because you never guess. Before my step 1 I was choosing between 2 teting centers in Europe, and I picked the one that was reported on forums as "software problems free". Guess what? My step 1 was almost ruined by the software issue. I double-checked and found out that the other center, the one which I stayed away from worked perfectly fine on that day.
Do you really think that computers or servers are any different in Philly which makes them freeze more often?

This really scary, I had that problem in my step CK exam, the computer frozen up, thank god at the end of the exam. I always thinking about that in case of CS exam, due to tight time for PN.

I think this is a good post. And yes, is to be informed. Who knows what is going on up there and why are they so closed to us. May be they see us as a thread, may be they don't see us as colleagues, they see us as competition and nowadays, these test are more directed in, not passing you, than in really evaluating your medical knowledge.
But you have to play the game, I think that they are making us better than other who they are trying to favor. And when the time comes, to show who is a better doctor, please... we are the best of the best here..

Default PN didnt save

I recently took CS in Chicago. One of my patient encounter notes didnt save on the computer and I was told I had to do a 13th patient interview and note. I have heard this happening to someone else and he received an incomplete despite doing the extra case. Any one have any thoughts or similar situations?
