from what I have seen in several videos you can do it like this.. (others can correct me if im wrong)

for CT, MRI and mammography you can simply say "which are devices that take pictures of your body..."
For MRI you can add "It uses a magnet"

For the invasive procedures like bronchoscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP you can summarize them by just saying that you insert a "tube to take pictures and take samples so that I can get a better idea" and afterwards emphasize that it is not painful bla bla bla

Everything that ends with oscopy:
tube connected to a camera that is inserted into ur rectum or mouth or whtver that goes all the way to ur colon or stomache to help us get a better look at what's going on inside

Ultrasound: Special kind of xray that uses sound waves to produce images of different parts of ur body
Barium enema or swallow or ivp: contrast is injected into ur rectum or swallowed etc and then an xray is taken to help us visualize the inside of ur colon esophagus or kidneys etc
CT: Special kind of xday that produces cross sectional images of ur organs
MRI: Same thing but add using a big magnet
etc
