Don't worry. Did proctors and testing staff tell you anything about it? Did you contact NBME or ECFMG? What happened that you had to quit? If you dont want to tell here, you can PM me. Just don't lose hope.

hey friend , thinking too much about it will not get you anywhere, what happened had happened whether they count it as failure or incomplete attempt.

Just chill and take your time as others have said. You have good step 1 and 2ck scores. You can match in future if you have the will to continue. This USMLE journey is very unpredictable. Sometimes those with 260 gets unmatched and sometimes those with 3 attempts get matched. It may not be fair but that is how it is. Take your time to decide as what you need to do next. And don't forget that when your are down in life, you may find some people who will try to further bring you down. But don't listen to them and take your time to decide with a cool head. I wish you best of luck and don't forget even Albert Einstein failed entrance examinations for the Swiss Federal Polytechnic. Failure did not stop that genius, nor did that test truly represent his real potential. So why should you stop? Think about that!

Hey sorry to hear this . but you dont need to give up . years from now you will wish you had a given CS another try and gone for the match . If you follow some doc for 8 - 10 months , get good LORs and make contacts and describe your situation in PS . You can definitely get this . Giving up is not the solution to anything . dont let the depressed mood decide for you , take some time off and discuss with your family and then think about it . Good luck in what ever you do ahead .

Default Don't be Sad

Hey dude, don't be sad. If ECFMG has told you that it will be counted as an incomplete attempt then that's what it is. If you stressed out maybe next time you can use some live preparation courses for CS. CS looks stressful but it's doable. Don't be sad, just rest for a while go for a vacation or something and keep your mind off this whole USMLE crap. Don't give up you can do it. Also there maybe some information in the USMLE and ECFMG Bulletin about your scenario. Good Luck.

What you need, besides letting this go, its probably deal with your own issues, no one is questioning your intelligence, you're obviously a smart guy, but you seriously have some deep issues regarding your confidence, and your ability to perform under stress; which is what we as doctors are required to do in any given time during our training and practice later on..

I believe and my advice to you is that first... identify what is going one with yourself, probably seek help, learn relaxation techniques and prob start believing in yourself.. instead of being so paranoid, apocalyptic, and attention seeker.

First you must be good with yourself before trying to be good with the outside world.

Just my 2 cents

if you do end up with an incomplete on your transcript, be prepared to to explain your incomplete to the PDs because im sure they will ask about it. unfortunetely, you may not make it past the residency screening cutoffs for programs that have a minimal requirement of passing the usmle on the first attempt."

read this on another forum.....does this mean i will be screened out because it is an attempt?
sorry for bothering anyone....just need to know this

hey bro no one can ans this , none of the people here have tried their luck at the match . neither can any one predict this . the point is if you want to get a residency just be careful now and get this last step done correctly and yes you need to explain this on a PS and you can make this your strong point, say you had a weakness of cracking under pressure but how you worked hard to over come it and come out as a confident guy . you could have quit but you stood up and worked to get your dream . You can make a great PS and easily talk about your weaknesses and strength and about yourself in the interview . we all have weaknesses in our CV, just find a way to overcome it . again be careful , plan , be wise how to cover your ass . again dont dive into a match without good USCE and lors and then worry about not matching . start working on them now if you dont have them .

good luck ..........

I'm very sorry to hear about your experience.
It is true at the beginning it is hard, but with the time, everything will be fine.
My advice, do not let this experience sways you from pursuing your aims, just start prepare again, give it more time, this way your anxiety will get less & less, something you need to know, everyone who did this exam, suffered from this anxiety, you are not alone.

Hai..
Add1 Dont think about the past....Continue with the journey..Hope the best.

I suggest u to do some observership build up some US experience.
Its said that CS is better to do after observership as u will get familiarized with the US systems...Then the exam will non difference from that we experience during observer ship..

In all exams we will be a bit tensed in initial part but in latter questions and cases it will die off..just be on the flow...Come back...
