Default cs exam ..over just an hour ago

helloo to all the beautiful/amazing people in this forum( 4 redbulls in last 12 hours)
just came back frm the exam:
was having tremors and aniety plus palpitations all caffeine induced

first case went bust-- was able to ask all relevant ques (thanks to my ques inventory).. was nt able to throw my PEARLS at him..EXAMINED WITHOUT REMOVING GOWN..WAS NT ABLE TO do CLOSEure FULLY

2. WAS NT ABLE TO THROW PEARLS AGAIN, EXAM INCOMPLETE (TUNING FORK EVEN AFTER STRIKING WAS NT WORKING WELL) AS THE ANNOUCEMENT CAME STRUCK IT ON THE WALL MUCH TO AMUSEMENT OF SP..CLOSED IT THIS TIME..

3. EXAMINED ABDOMEN WITHOUT LIFTING KNEES UP AND FORGOT TO WASH HANDS/GLOVES. (BLUNDERS)

4. DID SOME SILLY MISKTAKES LK NOT DONING THE MOST IMP (PATHOGNOMIC) DIAGNOSTIC TEST IN 1 CASE..

after the 30 min break after doing blunders at diff levels in 5 cases i think i did okay in rest 7 of em.

STARTING 2 CASES WENT PRETTY BAD..THEREAFTER CALMED MYSELF..CLOSED ALL CASES PRETTY GOOD..THREW LOTTA PEARLS,, WAS ABLE TO TYPE BEAUTIFUL PN IN ALL CASES ..FINISHED ALL CASES 2-3 MIN EARLIER CAME OUT ALONG WITH AMG'S , TYPED AND ENDED BEFORE MOST OF THEM. THE FACT THAT SPs DONT HAVE QUES CHECK SHEET NW, that HELPED ME IN LIMITING THE AMT OF QUES I NORMALLY WUD HAVE ASKED

SO I WANNA ASK ANY1 WHO HAS RECENTLY TAKEN EXAM, GOTTEN THEIR RESULT AND OUR RESPECTED FORUM ADMIN.

1. ICE COMPONENT IS COMPOSED OF = PN + DG..I KNOW I WROTE BEAUTIFUL PN BUT DG WENT KAPUT IN 40% CASES (HORRIBLY WRONG LK NT WASHING HANDS/ PUTTING ON GLOVES, NT EXAMINING COMPLETE, ABDO WITHOUT RAISING KNEES) AND OKAY IN REST.

2. CIS- WENT AMAZINGLY COOL EXCEPT 2 CASES IN BEGINNING..SAID A MILLOIN SORRIES TODAY..HAD FEW LINES UP MY SLEEVE WHICH I BORROWED FROM THE FORUM ...CHECKED ALL COMPONENTS OF CIS..COMPLETED EXAM 2-3 MINS BEFORE SO REALLLY GELLED WITH SPs

3. SEP- I KNOW I WILL PASS..

I AM WORRIED THAT COZ OF BASIC LEVEL BLUNDERS I HAVE HUGE CHANCE OF FAILING THIS EXAM..ALSO WEN PT SAID THEY HAD PAIN IN DOING SO N SO AND THAT SO AND SO WAS PART OF ICE..I TOLD THE PT THAT AM NT GONNA ASK U TO DO SO ANS SO AS U TOLD ME U HAD PAIN..BUT SHUD I HAVE GONE AHEAD N ASKED PT TO DO SO N THEN DOCUMENT HIS REFUSAL COZ HE MIGHT HAVE DONE THAT PARTICULAR SO AND SO FOR ME..

EAGERLY WAITING FOR REPLIES.... AND WILL ENTERTAIN ANY QUES EXCEPT BOUT CASES
IN THE END I JUST WANNA SAY TO MY FELLOW IMGs YOU HAVE ALL RECEIVED EXCELLENT EDUCATION AND U ALL ARE MASTERS OF UR OWN TRADE N THIS BEAUTIFUL EXAM WILL JUST SMOOTH OUT THE EDGES TO MAKE U SHINE..EVERY 1 IS SUPPORTIVE including STAFF..SPs. fellow AMGs...IT IS REALLY COOL ANFD FRIENDLY ENVT.
JUST FOLLOW FA N PRACTICE ICE TWICE OR THRICE N U WILL BREEZE THROUGH IT. OF ALL THE USMLE EXAMS ITS THE EASIEST..ALTHOUGH I WILL HAVE FOOT IN MY MOUTH IF I FAIL..BT NW THAT I KNOW THE SECRET I WILL ACE IT THE SECOND TIME

PEACE OUT

If this is worrying you then you did absolutely fantastic on the exam, they arent doctors, and most of the time deep palpation vs superficial wont give you that much of a difference.. SO be happy and hopefully you rocked!

Hey first Congrats on being done with the exam!!!
can you tell us what did you use as your study material?

and did you live practice with anyone?
I am worried as i am not able to find anyone for live practice.
I am doing it on skype and i am able to finish the whole encounter in less than 15 min
i know this can not replace the a live partner
still i am worried about this

sir, i would really recommed u to use live partner if u can coz there r a no of things that eat up ur time with live partner, or if u aint gt one then do it mentally n take a pause..lk opening of gown,, some will take time lying down, time req to wear gloves, wash hands, taking instruments ou putting them back in and wen there is a live person infront of u the pe that u think that ur so fluent in gets fumbled at times...it hapenned to me..so at practise on pillows..practise so much that ur able to finish every thing in 12 minutes..and pn in 9 minutes coz sometimes after open ended ques sp likes to talk a lot..u might nt be able to get 1 or twice waht he says n vice versa so u gotta look out for these hidden time wasters also to be safe.
wear gloves dont wash ur hands saves lotta time

only fa 4th ..once u make a generalised pnemonic ( i had great one u can do any case pertaining to any system wether in adult or child).
live prep 2-3 hrs per day/week is more than enuff to pass with three stars. exam is pretty much easy than FA cases coz they focuss on 1 system most of the times.
