Help Help me prepare for my CS exam

Hello!

I scheduled my exam in Chicago on the 27th March. I choose to take Cs before Ck in order to have my results before September 1st. Right now I am doing the minicases from FA and I would like to start CSE videos. I am still gathering information about the Cs preparation because I am a little confused, so that is why I would like to ask some questions:

1. For how long should I subscribe to CSE videos and what is the best way to approach them?

2. Is there any mnemonic that can I use for HPI for any other complaint besides pain (which is LIQORAAA). I found DOCPAAA, but I don;t think it includes all the questions that I should ask. I am confused!

3. I am looking for a study partner via Skype, so if you are interested in doing cases with me, just PM me. I am planning to start practicing in a week.

4. Is there anybody else taking their Cs on the 27th March, Chicago?

Thank you and good luck!

Teona

Thank you beka for your pdf files. So you will use these 2 mnemonics for any adult case that you will have? Except the psychiatric cases, I think.

Hello, I am studying from cse video and from fa. At the beginning I felt a little confuse but now I'm doing better. I'm an IMG.

If you want to feel organize you have to ask questions per symptoms. That's what I did.

Hey, I am an IMG too i was studying for step 1, then decided to take CS in the middle to accompany my hubby (i kind of started before him, so I'm on my own for a few days trying to get a grip of the material). I was really confused at first too, but now I think I'm picking up. I went through some forums and got some really nice tips.

This is the stuff I plan to look over:

- FA cases
- uworld cases FA doesn't cover (I noticed on uworld, on the first page with each scenario it has the differentials that you are supposed to think the moment you see the cc, so thats really helpful too)
- uworld physical examination videos
- practice typing PN's on uworld

And I wrote the things i need to focus on:

1) Entry (introduction to pt + transition)
2) History taking (+ transition)
3) manners, sympathy, apology, etc.
4) Physical examination (of 6 systems: CNS, CVS, RT, ABD, HEENT, Musculoskeletal) + transition
5) Closure
6) Patient note

I found OPQRSTU somewhere online and kind of edited it...

O- onset
P- provocation/palliation
progression
Q- Quality
R- radiation
S- site, severity
T- Time (duration) and Times (frequency)
U- Uninterrupted/interrupted (constant/intermittent)

Hope that helps a bit....

Help Starting prep! Only 2 weeks!!!

Hi guys!! Im finally going to start studying for CS after a long break after step 1. I'm also a little confused about how to go about studying..
I have FA for CS.
Besides reading the book, and practicing writing the patient note what else should we be doing??
I only have 2 and half weeks to study. Do you think its enough to prepare??! Please help! :sorry:

And which one is more helpful- the cse videos or uworld for CS?! Its confusing..

I'm taking the exam for the second time and I just signed up for one month with csevideo and I really wish I had used them the first time. I like how the exam room in the videos looks like the real exam room. I'm very pleased and I highly recommend them.
