Help Motivation to do CS without hesitation!

hi guys
i really could use some motivation
to actually do the cs this time
and not freak out and then leave..
not sure if i should take a short acting
benzo or any other anxiolytic
for the exam?
any suggestions?
really worried it is an expensive
exam and would be waste of money
if this happened again

Hi add1,
I think we are all looking for motivation to continue on this journey. But I believe that most importantly, we are looking for reassurance. That we are just as capable of passing these exams as many before us have. I really don't know what to tell you for motivation. I guess my motivation is to imagine myself in a hospital in the US, many years from now and thinking that I went into this and did it. Your scores are great; it's a great advantage so far. We are physicians; this is what we do, so let's just go and do it.

Do not try drugs if you are not sure on their effect in you.

BDZ's can sometimes cause drowsiness, you wouldnt want that.
I think that you should learn relaxation techniques and start to have confidence in yourself, as I said several times before.. you are a smart guy with confidence issues... just address that and I think the sky's the limit for you.

study hard, know the material by heart, be a good actor and leave the rest to god.

Good luck and keep in touch

i would suggest you to do lot of practice so that your confidence is at its highest level on the test date. it's normal to be little nervous but plz don't try any drugs or even too much caffeine.

Knowing my own anxiety level, I realize that using drugs is my only key.I got Ambien night before and Propranolol in the morning of the exam.I hadnt take any for Step 1 and sure enough ....failed, so Ive never fooled with panic and anxiety since then.Again, everybody is different and you have to pick up an option best for you

I plan to do it in July or August, and this exam is the one that scares me the most. The only remedy for this is practicing a lot until it becomes second nature. Becoming caffeine addict didn't help much for my step 1.
