Idea! why ask changes of cough during day in chronic cough ?

page 195, first aid 4th edition
question 3rd why ask this question ? i cant find any relevance ...

Here's one example when this could be relevant.

Patients with COPD, if they have a change in their chronic cough pattern you have to think of possible neoplasm.

i think one way of asking the question about exertional dyspnea is to ask the progression of cough during the day especially if it is dry. Productive cough is usually more in the mornings after waking up.
