Question Counseling: right away or at the end?

Hi everyone,

do you do your smoking, drug, alcohol counselling right away, i.e. when the patient mentions that he smokes, or do you wait till the end and counsel him after giving the patient your impression?

It doesn't matter at what point you counsel, be it immediately or during closure--you'll still get credit for doing so.

Personally, I would do it right away. It's easier that way because you might forget to do so at the end during closure--especially when you are pressed for time.
