Stethoscope Touching the Patient Gown!

Some one told me that , you can touch patient gown . You have to ask patient to untie it or move it up or lower the gown . But I can touch drape .
Also told me not to ask permission too much during physical examination , just tell the patient what I am going to do .....
Can you please tell me about these matter .....

Arrow Don't ask repeatedly

You can ask the patient to untie a gown that is tied in the front. But if it is tied on the back then it's quite difficult for him/her to untie it in that case you can just tell the patient "I will untie your gown to inspect your chest from the back" then you can proceed to ask him/her would you please lower down your gown so that I can have a look at your chest from the front.

Do not be very sensitive about this issue. Just move on. Do not ask repeatedly.

Yes, you can move the drape and comment as you do so like by saying "let me move the drape a little bit ..etc"
