Help Step 2 CS with disability; Doing it on a wheelchair

Does anyone here or anyone you know took CS in wheelchair? Do they have someone push your wheelchair? Or you have to do that by yourself....dislocated my ankle with a tri-malleolar fracture....thinking of postponing CS to October instead of july. Any thoughts , suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You will not be able to do the exam.
You can confirm with ECFMG.

Also if you do get someone to help you or if you get special consideration you will get a [*] by your mark if you pass or fail.

I suggest you cancel and do it when you could

Nope not "carib" but graduated 4 years back from an asian school, don't expect much help from the school. But even if I do get that, my application will be still incomplete, right? How will they evaluate me then? Thank for the help.

Hi!

I am sorry about your situation!
Please don't believe things you read in forums (no offense, shima, this is just a general rule of mine, because people do hear a lot of gossip and tend to pass it on) but instead CALL ECFMG during their office hours. Explain your situation and ask about their protocol!

Good luck I really hope you can take the test!

Default Hi

first of i am sorry that you have this problem and kudos to you for dealing with it like this. It's a reminder to all of us who keep complaining about everything. Yes you definitely just call ECFMG and talk to them in details but additionally. i would call the specific test center to ask about it too. I am also attaching these links but not sure how helpful that would be. Good luck my friend and i wish you success.

Thank You for the reply,

I called them ryt now..they are not taking calls at the moment.
I checked the website, it says it is allowed if I take prior permission.

I just wish it doesn't affect my result ,like with an annotation...

logically it shouldn't...the permission probably is just to rule out any discrepancies.

no offense taken at all.
in my first post , I told the OP to call ECFMG to confirm.

I speak of this because I know of this. One of my very good friends, had Olecranon Fracture, she could not even move her arms to do Physical exam, she got no special treatments, she had to cancel and since it was out of the eligibility period she was not even given a refund.

Another person from SGU broke his leg in a car accident same story. No refund.

The only person I know that got a refund was some one with a severe URI and it was the Influenza season.

He can call to confirm.

Hearing AID is not problem.

You can manage this even by saying this to the SP

"I am sorry I have a hearing conditon, which I need to wear hearing AID for"

My husband has a stammeing issue, so bad some time when he gets excited his words dont even make any sense. He explained it, he got a very high score in everything and passed, but he reported to ECFMG also for test accommodating, he had an ASTRICK {*} by his score. where it says Pass.

Guys thank you very much for your inputs.. I appreciate them all. So I called ECFMG obviously . They told me that I will have an asterisk mark on my result card and NO REFUND. I am very much pissed off with everything that is happening with me. I had my externships lined up and all I had to do is take the exam to have a fair chance this year. Now all is lost. I am just trying to take it easy and not beat myself up for it without a success . Let my situation be a cautionary example for all...
The one thing that makes me frustrated specially is how they are justifying a non-refund policy here?!! I am ready to go to the moon and back to take CS without an * on my result , I am not faking it....but they are keeping my money anyways. Don't take me as cheap , I just want my money's worth. smh

Good luck guys...I am done for this year. Not that someone guaranteed a residency position this year...but you know what I feel. arghh... Please pray for me. Thank you.

Try black tea lemonade with strawberry juice , no syrup. You will find your new addiction, that is if you haven't tried it out and also a cold drink person.
