Default how to make a compliment or to show empathy

how to say a compliment to someone who is compliant with medications or smth else. does anyone know how to show empathy except ' i am sorry to hear that' bc is kinda boring and we are going to lose points since the beginning.Thank you all, this forum is very helpful

I'm glad to hear that you're compliant, that's very wise from you! or something like that.. But for the most part of the compliments "I'm glad to hear that" should work just fine.. and "I see you're upset" works a lot of the time if you want to acknowledge the patient. But you should pay attention and practice your intonation and facial expression!! Otherwise, you would sound like stephen hawking..
