Listening CS is Just Common Sense!

Hi everyone
is it just me or is CS really just common sense???
I mean most of ur ddx and tests can be inferred from ddx and ddx from the complaint???
so why are people so scared about this exam??? is it communication closure and counseling part
or answering challenging questions??

it's a lot of things which doesn't have to do with your knowledge bcoz that only counts for your patient note
1)Finishing your encounter on time
2) performing the necessary physicals (this could be a toughie)
3) knowing when not to say things to the SP that may come across as rude or commanding or lectury (trust me this could also be hard 2 do)
4) knowing how to explain things in simple terms ( how do you explain what EEG or kegel exercises is to an SP?)
5) showing empathy (u literally have to turn into James bond)
6) body language
7) knowing when to fake a smile or show a concerned face
8) confidence
9) eye contact
10) being courteous

these are little things could literally make you fail ....even if you differentials are on point, and your patient note is on point. that is only 1/3 rd of the exam.

Thanks man
that is really useful!
will keep these things in mind!
i agree about the physicals
its difficult to do all the required
physicals and still finish in 15 mins
so better to be really focused
