Help Step 2 CS Failure and Matching Chances

Hey Guys, I found out that I failed my cs and am very shocked and disappointed. I guess I didn't prepare for it as much as I should have. Im trying to pick myself and move on from this since I still want to apply for match 2014.
I am applying to FM only. I have decent LOR's and a good rapport with one of the FM programs I rotated in. The program coordinator infused some confidence by saying that she can vouch for me as long as my scores come back before ranking time. But that is only One program that will take a chance on me with an interview without my scores. If I scramble now, I can take a kaplan course and retake cs by Sept 7 to have the score come back oct-nov period. I'll have to take my ck in september too and have the score come out in oct-nov as well. If I take my cs after Sept7, my score will only come out after december 4.
My question to you guys is, should I still scramble to apply this year?? My step 2 cs and ck scores will be reported late. However, if I wait to apply for 2015, won't that look bad as well since I sat out a year after my graduation?
Few of the programs I looked into takes applications till dec31, 2013. Many of the programs I have looked into have interview periods going into January-Feb 2014. I am wondering if I can have my application complete with all my scores by December, assuming I get above 220 on ck and passing cs… Will program look at my application even though it is not complete by Sept 15.
willing to apply to over 100+ programs and will go anywhere.
Caribbean Medical Student- 4th year, US citizen. graduation date may2014.
Step 1-222 1st attempt
Step 2ck- will take soon
Step 2 cs- 1st attempt fail, 2 attempt score reporting in Dec!

Desperately in need of some advice. sorry for the long post. I'd greatly appreciate any input in this.

This depends on a lot of unforseen circumstances, I think you will probably pass cs this time around but what about your ck score? if you had both scores in hand, I would advise you to go for it....but don't compromise your ck score...you only get one chance to get a good score, if you feel you can score 230+ then go for it. By the way I'm not familiar with Caribbean schools but can you repeat a yr with them or does that look really bad...I can feel your pain though I failed the cis portion of step2 cs as well...
best of luck though

Hey thanks for replying.. I probably wouldn't take my ck unless i know i feel comfortable that i will score above my step 1 score. I won't have to repeat a year. I'll still graduate from my school on time(May 2013). If I don't apply this year, i'll have to find something to do for one year till the 2015 match. And from speaking to a Program Director, one of the things they look for is how long has it been since you graduated.
I just don't know what is worse. Applying with scores late or waiting another year. It seems like there is no clear cut answer. My gut feeling is telling me to go for it this year though.

Default Same boat but done with Ck

I'm in the same boat with the Thread starter but I'm already done with Ck. Step 1 (214), step 2 Ck (234), what are my chances in matching. I'm an IMG and the only part that I failed in was the ICE. I really need good advice. I'm currently doing an observership with an FM on his own clinic

Coronary, I am in the same situation you were in. Did you match 2016? I'm devastated by my CS fail. Today is August 18th 2016. I want to apply for 2017 match, want to apply for both IM and Psych.

Step 1 - 221
Step 2 CS - Fail (first time)
Step 2 CK - Waiting for score

Any advice?

I haven't figured it out yet. I think I will still apply. It's going to be impossible getting another CS test date in time though
