Question FA Concepts enough for the exam?

My exam is in on Sept 11th in Houston.

I have read through the FA cases twice, practiced with a SP once, now practicing FA second round.

am having some queries

Is understanding the FA concepts sufficient for this exam?

Hw much of notes can we take, while interacting with the pt?
coz my way of practice is, I write some notes simultaneously while talking to the patient, (without taking my eyes off the pt) but many are advising even against it, saying that CIS component would be jeopardized by it. am worried if I don't write down anything I could blank out. looking forward 2 ur response

Thanks

Yes. Understanding the concepts in FA is sufficient to pass the exam.

But also you need to practice your clinical skills, reading alone is not enough.

You can take notes while talking to the patient (you can tell the SP, do you want if I write some notes while we talk and the SP will say no problem and that will not jeopardize your performance).

But you need to keep your notes to a minimum. Just scribbles and outlines. Because you don't have much time.

The more and more you practice, the faster you will be and the less time you will spend writing notes.

In real life, doctors do not spend times writing notes, they keep it in their head and then they go write the notes after they finish seeing the patient.

The trick is to keep practicing until you are good at it.
